In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution recognizing April 30, 2026 as "Affordable Homeownership Day" in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. "Affordable Homeownership Day" is a project of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), whose affordable homeownership bus tour will touch down in our Commonwealth on April 25, 2026. The Affordable Homeownership Bus Tour is a national initiative led by NAREB to bring real solutions for housing affordability directly to communities across America. The tour brings together housing experts, local leaders, lenders, and real estate professionals to deliver education, resources, and pathways that help individuals and families achieve and sustain  homeownership. Through data driven conversations, community partnerships, and practical tools for buyers, the tour advances NAREB’s mission to Close the Gap in Black homeownership and expand access to wealth building through real estate. The tour will spotlight local housing data and national trends highlighted in NAREB’s State of Housing in Black America (SHIBA) report, helping communities understand the structural challenges impacting affordability. Through discussions with Elected and Civic Leaders, housing officials, lenders, and real estate professionals, the tour will facilitate solutions-focused dialogue around policy, development, and financing strategies that can expand housing access and homeownership for all its citizens. At its core, the tour is about action and access. Attendees will leave with tangible resources, connections to trusted housing professionals, and a clearer pathway toward homeownership. For many communities, these events will serve as an entry point into programs and resources that can help families move from renters to owners and begin building generational wealth.

I hope you will cosponsor this legislation in the name of promoting affordable homeownership.
