I will soon introduce a resolution designating May 17–23, 2026, as Public Works Week in Pennsylvania to coincide with National Public Works Week.

The theme for 2026, “Rooted in Service, Powered by Community,” highlights the essential role public works professionals play in supporting the infrastructure, facilities, and services that form the foundation of sustainable and resilient communities. These professionals work largely behind the scenes, yet their impact is visible everywhere, keeping our communities healthier, safer, and functioning smoothly.

Public works professionals include individuals from state and local agencies such as engineers, consultants, contractors, inspectors, and vendors who support these agencies. Their work in planning, building, managing, and operating public works systems enhances our quality of life and strengthens the communities in which we live.

Please join me in honoring the dedicated individuals who serve in the public works field and recognizing their significant contributions and accomplishments across the Commonwealth.
