We plan to introduce a resolution declaring the week of May 6 to 12, 2026, as “Nurses Week” in Pennsylvania.

“National Nurses Week” begins May 6 and ends May 12 each year, in conjunction with Florence Nightingale’s birthday.

As nurses, we understand the commitment and extraordinary work that nurses across Pennsylvania do every day. That is why each May, we come together to promote the importance of “Nurses Week.” It highlights the numerous ways nurses are working to transform health care across the Commonwealth.

Our dedicated nursing professionals strive to meet the health care needs of our Commonwealth and deserve to be recognized. It is vital that we use “Nurses Week” to celebrate the nurses at work here in Pennsylvania and to thank them for their continued support in providing excellent patient care.

With more than 313,000 nurses in the Commonwealth, they represent Pennsylvania’s largest segment of health care providers.

Please join us by co-sponsoring this resolution to honor the hardworking and devoted nurses across the Commonwealth!
