In the near future, I will be reintroducing legislation that will recognize April 19 through 25, 2026 as “National Library Week” in Pennsylvania.

First recognized in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance that celebrates the valuable contributions of all libraries, librarians, and library workers across the country.

Libraries provide an invaluable resource for our Commonwealth, not only in the books they provide, but also in the technology-based resources they offer such as computer stations. Additionally, they provide many services and programs to the communities they serve.

The 2026 theme of National Library Week is “Find Your Joy”.

Please consider co-sponsoring this important resolution to recognize the importance of our Commonwealth libraries and acknowledge the hard work of librarians and library workers.
