In the near future, I will be introducing legislation to designate a portion of Blakley Street in Dunmore Borough, Lackawanna County, from the intersection with Pine Street to the intersection with Drinker Street, as the “Staff Sergeant Steven R. Tudor Memorial Highway.”
Staff Sergeant Steven R. Tudor was killed in action on April 21, 2007, while honorably serving our nation in Baghdad, Iraq, during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Staff Sergeant Tudor proudly served in the United States Army for 18 years, including service during Operation Desert Storm.
A proud member of the Dunmore community, Staff Sergeant Tudor was a 1989 graduate of Dunmore High School. His dedication to our country was unwavering, and his sacrifice continues to be deeply felt by his family, fellow service members, and the Dunmore community. His wife also served as a fellow soldier, reflecting their shared commitment to military service.
This designation will serve as a lasting tribute to Staff Sergeant Tudor’s courage, service, and sacrifice, while ensuring that future generations remember his contributions and the profound cost of defending our freedoms.
Please join me in honoring Staff Sergeant Steven R. Tudor by co-sponsoring this legislation.
