Members of the military reserve are uniquely positioned as full-time civilian employees or students and part time members of the United States Armed Forces. These brave individuals must balance carrying out their day-to-day responsibilities while maintaining peak readiness.

Despite the fact that many reserve members actively contribute to their communities through civilian professions, they are ineligible for state grants currently offered to Pennsylvania National Guard members for approved programs of education. To that end, I will be introducing legislation to extend the state educational assistance program to members of reserve components of the United States Armed Forces.

Please join me in support of this legislation to give the approximately 19,000 reserve members in Pennsylvania the tools they need to further their education while serving our Commonwealth and nation.
