In the near future, I plan on introducing legislation to remove the cap on housing projects currently in the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) law.
According to the Governor’s Housing Action Plan, Pennsylvania must increase its housing production by 18,500 units per year to meet the future demand.  Additionally, Pennsylvania needs to add 450,000 new housing units to the Commonwealth’s housing stock by 2035 to meet the demand.
This legislation would make changes to the RACP law to allow the program to better support the housing needs of the Commonwealth.  By amending current law, these dollars can begin flowing quickly to those housing projects that will allow us to make significant progress on closing our housing unit gap.
I hope you will join me in sponsoring this legislation.
