We will soon offer a resolution to recognize March 2026 as “National Nutrition Month” in Pennsylvania.

"National Nutrition Month" is a nutrition education and information campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to focus attention on the importance of making informed food and nutrition choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the world's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals, having more than 100,000 credentialed practitioners with many members being Registered Dietitians, Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, or Registered Dietetic Technicians.

The type, quality, and amount of food that an individual consumes each day plays a vital role in overall health and physical fitness. There is a need for continuing nutrition education and a wide-scale effort to enhance healthy eating practices.

This year’s theme, “Food Connects Us” highlights that food is not only the substance by which life is sustained but is also a tasty way to celebrate flavors from cultures around the world and appreciate our diversity.

We encourage our colleagues to join us in cosponsoring this resolution to celebrate the food that connects us and recognize the role that nutrition plays in achieving optimum health for today and tomorrow.
