In the near future, I will be introducing legislation to directly punish individuals who steal and sell human remains.

As many of us have seen in recent news reports, an individual in Pennsylvania was recently arrested in connection with the theft and sale of a significant number of human remains. This deeply disturbing case has highlighted a need for our laws to be updated to specifically provide for this type of offense.

The theft and sale of human remains is morally reprehensible and is devastating to the loved ones of the victimized decedent.  

My bill will classify the theft and sale of human remains as a third degree felony. By clearly defining this offense in statute, we will ensure that individuals who engage in such exploitation face serious legal consequences.
