In the near future, I plan to reintroduce components of Senate Bill 1099, making technical changes to the Fire & EMS Grant Program, including:
 
*Eliminating the archaic “invalid coaches” definition.
*Calling on the Office of State Fire Commissioner (OSFC) to utilize the DCED Single Application for Assistance system.
*Eliminating the Firefighter 1 incentive which is too cumbersome for OSFC to administer.  It permits the Fire Commissioner to establish a new bonus in consultation with the Fire Advisory Board and the Department of Health's Bureau of EMS.
*Asking fire companies to provide some additional contact information to ensure that OSFC can stay in communication.
*Eliminating the outdated COVID Grant language.
