Eating disorders are serious and potentially life-threatening conditions that affect both physical and emotional health. They impact approximately 30 million Americans of all ages, sizes, races, genders, and backgrounds, yet many individuals remain unseen or unsupported due to stigma, misinformation, and barriers to care.
National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (NEDAW), observed February 23 through March 1, 2026, is a nationwide campaign dedicated to raising awareness, challenging stigma, and providing hope and support to those affected. This year’s theme, Every BODY Belongs, highlights the importance of fostering understanding, compassion, and access to resources so that no one struggles alone.
Recognizing this week in Pennsylvania will help elevate public understanding, encourage early detection and intervention, and promote open dialogue about body image and disordered eating. We hope you will join us in co-sponsoring this resolution to affirm that every body belongs and to stand in support of individuals and families impacted by eating disorders.
