The Medical Loan Assistance Program, administered by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA), has not been utilized for approximately 25 years and has not received any additional funding during that time. Despite the program’s long-standing inactivity, the corresponding provisions remain in the Public School Code.

To remove administrative burden on PHEAA, I am introducing legislation to repeal the section of the Public School Code pertaining to this inactive program. Removing outdated provisions will promote clarity and remove unnecessary reporting requirements.
