The New Economy Technology Scholarship (NETS), administered by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) has been phased out and no longer receives appropriations. Although this program has been closed for some time, PHEAA continues to generate and submit reports for the program, pursuant to existing statutory requirements.
 
I am introducing legislation which would formally repeal the obsolete reporting section of this program in existing law. This update would eliminate unnecessary administrative and reporting obligations tied to a program that no longer accepts recipients or receives funding.
