F tbol, also known as soccer, is the most popular sport in the world with over 3.5 billion fans, and Pennsylvania is the birthplace to one of the sport’s greatest American players. Christian Pulisic, born in Hershey, Pennsylvania on September 18, 1998, is known internationally as one of the greatest f tbol players from the United States. In his career, he has shattered records, won multiple tournaments, and become the youngest player to captain the U.S. Men’s National Team, where he is affectionately nicknamed “Captain America.”

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, in which Pulisic is expected to play, will be jointly co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States in the summer of 2026, with six matches scheduled to be played in Philadelphia. It is an honor for the Commonwealth to be the birthplace of one of the nation’s best f tbol players and to be a host of six 2026 FIFA World Cup games. To recognize Pennsylvania native Christian Pulisic and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, we are introducing a resolution designating September 18, 2026, as “Futbol Day” in Pennsylvania.

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup coming soon, let’s embrace the spirit of this world-uniting sport. Please join us in celebration of the beautiful game of f tbol and in honoring Christian Pulisic by signing on to this resolution.
