In the near future, we plan to introduce legislation to ensure the timely operation of the Child Welfare Case Management Subsystem.
 
A State Inspector General investigation into the Commonwealth’s child welfare system identified significant vulnerabilities in how reports of child abuse are tracked.
 
The Department of Human Services has not established a timeline for when the Child Welfare Case Management Subsystem of the Enterprise Case Management System will become operational. All other subsystems have defined timeframes. Accordingly, our legislation would require this subsystem to be operational no later than December 31, 2027.
 
Once implemented, the system will provide a comprehensive, statewide child welfare case management platform that will improve outcomes for children and families.
