We have been hearing from constituents throughout the 50th and 46th Senatorial Districts about how difficult it can be to see the lines on state-owned roadways, especially in snow, rain and fog, creating dangerous conditions for both Commercial and passenger vehicles. We have seen firsthand roadway lines so faint or barely reflective in the evenings and inclement weather, that drivers strain to maintain a safe visual. This is a public safety issue and we must do better.

Our legislation would seek to increase the minimum thickness of the lines on state-owned roadways, enhancing the longevity of the paint, as well as increase the reflectiveness for the safety of both Pennsylvania’s commuters and those passing through. Improving visibility is one small way in which we can make all drivers and their passengers feel safer on our roadways.

We hope you will join us in cosponsoring this simple, common sense safety measure.
