I will be introducing a resolution to designate April 2026 as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Pennsylvania.
Children are our most precious resource.
They deserve to be loved, protected and to grow up in an environment that is free from abuse and neglect. Child abuse and neglect affect countless families across the country, regardless of geography, ethnicity, or income.
In Pennsylvania, over 41,000 reports of suspected child abuse were received in 2024, with 60 substantiated fatalities. In the United States, an estimated 546,159 children were victims of child abuse and neglect in 2023. This equates to a national rate of 7.4 victims per 1,000 children in the population.
By recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in PA, we can bring attention to the prevalence of child abuse and acknowledge the importance of working together to protect the most vulnerable members of our society.

Please join me in sponsoring this important resolution.
