In the near future, I will be introducing legislation prohibiting law enforcement agencies in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from using state and local resources to conduct immigration enforcement on behalf of the federal government.

As federal immigration enforcement has threatened the safety of communities across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, it is imperative that state resources used to enforce federal civil immigration laws be limited. While the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) does limit its cooperation with ICE, law enforcement agencies across the Commonwealth cooperate with ICE at their discretion, billing taxpayers for enforcement protocol and behavior that puts vulnerable immigrant communities as well as civilians in harm’s way.

Please join me in cosponsoring this critical piece of legislation.
