We will soon be introducing a resolution designating February 2026 as “Career and Technical Education Month” in Pennsylvania.
More than 75,000 students in the Commonwealth are enrolled in career and technical education programs, including both career and technical centers and high school-based programs. There are almost 90 CTE centers and over 140 high schools across Pennsylvania that offer Department of Education-approved programs built on foundations of academic rigor and high expectations for student learning and success.
CTE programs are vital to Pennsylvania’s economic future as they prepare students to enter high-demand workforce sectors, including healthcare, manufacturing, public safety, information technology, skilled trades and more. These programs offer students the opportunity to develop essential skills through a combination of classes and hands-on learning experiences, allowing them to apply academics to real-world problems.
This resolution aims to raise awareness about the importance of CTE programs in our Commonwealth, the opportunities they provide in much needed fields, and their role in strengthening Pennsylvania’s economic competitiveness.
Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution recognizing the importance of CTE programs and their positive impact on students and on Pennsylvania’s future.
