As it stands, current Pennsylvania law permits disabled individuals to apply for only one “Persons with Disability Special Registration Plate” through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).  This restriction does not reflect the reality that disabled individuals might own more than one vehicle.

I am proposing a change to the existing law to allow disabled individuals to apply for two disability registration plates.  This adjustment will not only align the law with the current practice of issuing two parking placards but also enhance mobility options for those who rely on these accommodations.

I urge my fellow legislators to consider the benefits of this proposal for our constituents with disabilities.  Together, we can make a significant impact on their accessibility and independence.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.  I look forward to your support.
