Currently there are over 800,000 social workers serving communities across our nation, with projections showing continued growth in the field, estimated around 6-7%. To recognize their invaluable contributions, we will introduce a resolution designating March 2026 as “National Social Worker Month” in Pennsylvania.

Every day, social workers empower individuals, families, and communities to address challenges and reach their full potential. Their impact extends into schools, hospitals, the military, child welfare agencies, community centers, and all levels of government. From aiding veterans’ transitions to civilian life, to fortifying struggling families, to connecting people with transformative services, social workers play a crucial role in strengthening our communities.

As economic inequality grows, health disparities widen, and our population ages, social workers have become more indispensable than ever—both across the United States and throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Please join us in honoring these professionals’ vital work by co-sponsoring this resolution. Thank you for your consideration.
