Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are on the front lines of crisis response, often risking their own safety, to deliver lifesaving care around the clock. Doctors, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, firefighters, police, 911 dispatchers, and other first responders serve their communities by helping neighbors in need during crimes, fires, and devastating accidents.

Today’s EMS clinicians bring advanced skills and innovative tools to these moments: evolving models of care that serve patients in big cities, tribal lands, rural plains and everywhere in between: prehospital ultrasound, early stroke recognition, and whole blood transfusion. These advancements are creating a measurable difference well before the patient reaches the hospital.

To honor these courageous professionals, we will be introducing a resolution designating May 17-23, 2026, as “Emergency Medical Services Week” in Pennsylvania. Let us recognize the heroes behind the patch and reaffirm our commitment, as partners and communities, to Improving Outcomes, Together

Please join us in recognizing the strength, dedication, and sacrifice of our EMS workers by co-sponsoring this resolution.
