The relationship between state agencies and the entities which they regulate can be adversarial and impedes compliance with regulatory requirements. With compliance as the objective, these state agencies and applicants need to work collaboratively to ensure conformity with regulations instead of creating a punitive environment. When government joins together to work with the regulated community, we can see great economic growth, success and compliance.
In the near future, we will introduce legislation to encourage such collaboration by creating a compliance officer who solely focuses on home ownership and housing development permits and applications.
Oftentimes, developers and homeowners face bureaucratic delays and interagency conflicts when navigating the permitting and application process in the housing creation process. This lack of consistent and timely cooperation between residential builders and the government impedes economic growth, success and compliance that can meet our pressing housing needs.
A dedicated compliance officer would serve as a central point of contact to provide assistance and transparency to applicants as they are working through the permitting and application processes with government agencies.
Pennsylvanians deserve easy access to housing opportunities, to be able to put down roots where they can live, work, and pursue their own stable economic futures without bureaucratic delays slowing our ability to meet housing market demands.
