This bill designates the bridge identified as Bridge Key 46384, which carries Galloway Road over Interstate 276 in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, as the "Sgt. John J. Bonk, Jr., Memorial Bridge." The General Assembly outlines several findings about Sgt. Bonk, including his graduation from Bensalem High School in 1978, his enlistment in the Marine Corps, and his tragic death during the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut on October 23, 1983. The bill also notes that he was laid to rest with full honors and that Bensalem High School honors his legacy through the "Sergeant John Bonk Gung-Ho Award" given to exemplary Junior ROTC cadets.

Additionally, the bill mandates that the Department of Transportation is responsible for erecting and maintaining appropriate signs that display the name of the bridge to traffic in both directions. The act is set to take effect 60 days after its passage.
