Chuseok, also known as “Korean Thanksgiving,” is a three-day festival celebrating a successful harvest while honoring deceased loved ones and connecting with family through food, drink, dancing, storytelling, and playing music and games. This two-thousand-year-old tradition highlights ideals such as unity, appreciating nature and connecting through the arts.

I will be introducing a resolution to recognize September 25, 2026, as “Chuseok Day” in Pennsylvania to commemorate these ideals as well as the contributions of Korean Americans to our country and our Commonwealth.

By recognizing Chuseok, we can honor how Korean culture helps shape communities across the Commonwealth while embracing the diversity and shared heritage that strengthen the fabric of Pennsylvania. Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution to recognize Chuseok—a celebration of family, ancestry, bountiful harvest, and arts—here in Pennsylvania.
