Across Pennsylvania, speeding continues to threaten public safety and disrupt daily life for residents. Dangerous speeding contributes to crashes and injuries, affecting people as they walk to work, wait at bus stops, or cross the street to essential services. In Northeast Philadelphia, Levick Street serves as a key connector to Frankford Avenue and the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge area.  When drivers treat this corridor like a cut-through speedway, residents are at risk moving through their own neighborhood.

I plan to introduce a bill that will extend Philadelphia’s automated speed enforcement system program beyond Roosevelt Boulevard to include the portion of Levick Street between Frankford Avenue and Pennsylvania Route 73.

Expanding automated speed enforcement helps prevent crashes before they happen by holding drivers accountable and reducing dangerous speeding on a heavily traveled corridor. This legislation will reinforce basic expectations of safety for pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders, and drivers alike to ensure communities feel protected rather than ignored.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this bill to expand automated speed enforcement to Levick Street. This measure will improve safety in a critical corridor and provide a model for other municipalities across the Commonwealth to address dangerous speeding.
