In response to the housing crisis in the United States, we have established several housing programs, such as the Housing Options Program, the Whole Home Repairs Program, and the Construction Cost Relief Program, to increase the housing supply in Pennsylvania. However, we still lack a comprehensive, uniform housing strategy. Having such a strategy would allow us to maximize our cooperation across state agencies to develop and work towards meeting housing goals that will further alleviate the housing crisis in Pennsylvania.

As such, we plan to introduce legislation which would establish the Commonwealth Housing Council with the responsibility of working with executive departments and agencies to develop a uniform set of housing goals, benchmarks, and priorities. The Council would be tasked with striving to improve home availability and affordability so all Pennsylvanians can have a roof over their heads.

By better coordinating our response to the housing crisis, we can work to ensure that all Pennsylvanians have access to affordable housing.

Please join us in creating a uniform housing strategy to help all Pennsylvanians find a place they can call home.
