In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that requires PennDOT to maintain in-person locations where inspection stations may physically obtain inspection stickers from PennDOT.

Unfortunately, PennDOT no longer allows in-person pickups for inspection stickers at any of their locations resulting in inspection station owners and operators sometimes experiencing significant delays as they wait to receive the stickers in the mail. These delays can have negative effects on our locally owned garages, including financial losses, and delay inspections for vehicle owners. Station owners can be put in very difficult situations where a vehicle owner, who needs to have their inspection completed to get to work, is unable to receive an inspection because the station is simply out of stickers.

To remedy this, my legislation simply requires PennDOT to open and maintain at least five offices where those who own or operate an inspection station may obtain inspection stickers in person. These offices must be open at least two days a week for at least three hours per day in order to best serve inspection stations across Pennsylvania. This simple, common-sense change will allow inspection stations greater flexibility in obtaining inspection stickers and will significantly cut down on delays and financial losses.

I hope you will consider co-sponsoring this legislation that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of PennDOT services to inspection stations and the motoring public.
