In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would help our county prothonotary offices keep up with rising costs. My legislation would amend Act 203 of 1982, known as the Prothonotary Fee Law to increase the cost of automation fees for the initiation of any action or legal proceeding by the prothonotary in counties of the second-class A through eighth class from the current to $10. The current fee is $5.

My legislation would further allow the prothonotary’s office to increase the fee every three years based on inflation.

Please join me in supporting our prothonotaries across the Commonwealth.
