In the near future, we will introduce a resolution designating November as Care at Home Month in the Commonwealth.

Home care aides, direct care workers, hospice staff, and home health professionals provide essential support to older adults and individuals with disabilities who wish to remain in the comfort of their own homes. They deliver critical medical, palliative, and specialized care that allow patients to receive care with dignity and continuity.

The need for these services is increasing. By 2030, one in three Pennsylvanians is expected to be over the age of 60. Currently, approximately 375,000 Pennsylvanians work in home care, home health, and hospice fields, and more than 500,000 residents receive home-based care each month. Meeting projected demand may require as many as 115,000 additional workers by 2030.

This resolution honors the dedication of these professionals and highlights their vital role in serving some of our most vulnerable citizens.

Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution.
