The increasing cost of living negatively impacts all of us, but especially those struggling financially.  A paycheck does not provide the same purchasing power for those earning it.
In these difficult economic times, affordable housing continues to be an issue for many Pennsylvanians.

To help counties offer more affordable housing, I plan to introduce legislation that will require the state to offer 2% of land sold to the county when a state correctional facility closes.  The county is not required to accept the land, but if accepted, the land may only be used for affordable housing and certain steps to ensure the availability of the affordable housing must be taken by the county within specified time frames.

Join me in ensuring that a small portion of the land will be used to help those in need have a home.
