In the near future, I will introduce a resolution honoring the life, leadership, and legacy of Richard Roman, who served the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with distinction through his nearly three decades of service with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).  Sadly, Rich passed away on November 1, 2025.

A native of northeastern Pennsylvania, Rich Roman dedicated his career to improving transportation infrastructure, enhancing public safety, and fostering collaboration between PennDOT, local governments, and community stakeholders. Most recently, he served as Transportation District Executive for District 4, where his leadership and expertise guided critical projects that improved the quality of life for residents across our region and the Commonwealth.

Rich was widely respected for his professionalism, integrity, and steadfast commitment to excellence. His decades of service, including prior leadership roles as Director of the Bureau of Maintenance and Operations, Assistant Highway District Engineer, and numerous engineering and management positions, reflect a career defined by dedication, innovation, and public stewardship.

This condolence resolution pays tribute to Rich’s enduring impact on Pennsylvania’s transportation network and extends our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched, the partnerships he built, and the projects he inspired.

I invite you to join me in honoring Richard Roman’s exemplary service and lasting contributions to the Commonwealth by adding your name as a co-sponsor of this resolution.
