The space sector is rapidly growing and, in order to remain at the forefront of innovation, we must enhance the Commonwealth’s position in this sector. This can be achieved by offering a dollar-for-dollar tax credit that incentivizes local investment, fosters innovation, and strengthens our competitive edge in the space economy.
Therefore, in the near future we intend to introduce a bill that creates the “Pennsylvania Space Economy Tax Credit.” This bill will provide critical financial support to Pennsylvania-based companies engaged in the development of space-related infrastructure by matching federal dollars awarded from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the United States Department of Defense (DoD) for qualified projects. Through this tax credit, we can support various activities, including research, development, and the manufacturing of technologies related to power and communications.

This initiative would enable our local businesses to accelerate their engineering and manufacturing capabilities while also promoting procurement from Pennsylvania-based suppliers. This approach not only supports our economy but also aligns with national space priorities, ensuring that Pennsylvania plays a significant role in the evolving landscape of the space industry.
Please join us in co-sponsoring this important legislation to drive economic growth, create jobs, and position Pennsylvania as a leader in the space sector.
