In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution designating November as "Care at Home Month." This resolution will honor home care, home health, and hospice professionals who provide essential services to individuals with disabilities and debilitating injuries, and our aging population, allowing them to remain in their homes and communities.
These providers assist with daily living activities, deliver skilled medical care, and offer compassionate end-of-life support. They represent over 375,000 jobs in Pennsylvania, with a growing demand for more workers as our population ages. Currently, more than 500,000 Pennsylvanians receive home-based care each month.
Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution, so we can formally recognize and express our gratitude for the dedication of these professionals and highlight their crucial role in caring for some of our most vulnerable citizens. They are the backbone of our home care system, and their contributions deserve to be celebrated and supported. Thank you for your consideration and support in honoring these vital workers.
