This bill amends the Public School Code of 1949 to introduce a mandatory student fitness assessment for all school districts, charter schools, and cyber charter schools in Pennsylvania. Starting in the 2026-2027 school year, these institutions will be required to administer a fitness assessment aligned with the Presidential Fitness Test, as established by the President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition. The assessment will be integrated into the regular health, safety, and physical education programs and will not be a condition for promotion or graduation.

Additionally, the bill mandates that the assessment be conducted in accordance with Presidential Executive Order 14327 and any related federal guidance. The Pennsylvania Department of Education is tasked with issuing guidelines to ensure the uniform administration of the assessment and may also recognize student achievements that meet national benchmarks. The act is set to take effect 60 days after its passage.
