In 1955, McNeil Laboratories, a Philadelphia family-owned business, introduced Tylenol Elixir for Children, which was the first single ingredient acetaminophen product on the market. Throughout the years, Tylenol has expanded their range of products to over two dozen over-the-counter medications for different symptoms, age groups, and delivery methods. Tylenol has become the best-known product of the 600 products containing the active ingredient acetaminophen on the market. 

 

Tylenol has helped countless people manage their pain and discomfort with ease and reliability. In order to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Tylenol’s introduction and FDA approval, I will be introducing a resolution to recognize November 1, 2025, as “Tylenol Day” in Pennsylvania.
