I will soon be introducing a resolution to officially recognize July as Culinary Arts Month in the Commonwealth. This resolution honors the contributions of Pennsylvania’s culinary professionals, students, and educational programs, highlighting their essential role in workforce development, supporting local economies, and preserving the state’s vibrant culinary and cultural traditions.

Career and technical education centers, community colleges, and culinary programs across the state provide students with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed for careers in food service, hospitality, and culinary innovation. These programs prepare students not only for post-secondary education but also for success in a globally competitive workforce.

Recognizing National Culinary Arts Month encourages communities to support and celebrate the culinary field. Pennsylvania’s restaurants, wineries, bakeries, and other food producers exemplify the creativity and entrepreneurship that strengthen tourism, drive economic growth, and bring communities together.

Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution, which acknowledges and celebrates the skills and dedication of culinary professionals while inspiring the next generation to pursue rewarding careers in a dynamic and growing industry that benefits communities across Pennsylvania.
