In honor of our Commonwealth’s thriving pork industry, we will be introducing a resolution designating the month of October 2025 as “Pork Month” in Pennsylvania.
This industry is not just a significant contributor to our economy, it represents thousands of hardworking men and women who strive to provide a nutritious, flavorful protein.
Currently, we have 2,777 swine farms and an industry that supports 14,051 jobs and contributes $1.14 billion to our state’s economy.
Pennsylvania’s pork industry continues to be a strong national competitor as it ranks 12th in production- raising just under 1.5 million hogs annually.
Please join us in recognizing the impact of pork in Pennsylvania and celebrating our pork producers by cosponsoring this resolution.
