The U.S. Air Force is an essential component of the U.S. military. The U.S. Air Force was not initially a separate branch of the military but was part of the U.S. Army. On July 26, 1947, President Harry S. Truman signed the National Security Act, which led to the establishment of the U.S. Air Force as an independent branch of the military on September 18, 1947. This establishment immensely improved the operational and tactical ability of the military.
For this reason, I plan to introduce a resolution that would designate September 18, 2025, as “U.S. Air Force Birthday” in Pennsylvania.  The U.S. Air force is vital in providing an efficient approach to our national security.
Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution as it is important that we recognize the formal establishment of the U.S. Air Force and celebrate U.S. Air Force personnel.
