In the near future, we will introduce a resolution designating October 3, 2025, as “Manufacturing Day” in Pennsylvania.

The manufacturing sector employs over 562,000 hardworking Pennsylvanians and generates over $112 billion in annual economic output, roughly 13% of the state’s total GDP.

Despite the fact that manufacturing jobs have above-average wages and benefits, stigmas that manufacturing is dirty, dangerous and unfulfilling persist. The reality is the modern manufacturing sector relies heavily on advanced technology, including robotics and additive manufacturing. The manufacturing sector needs creators and innovators to thrive into the future.

Further, most new manufacturing jobs will not require a four-year degree, offering career paths requiring just on-the-job training, apprenticeships, certificates, or associates degrees.

Manufacturing isn’t just about making things—it’s about shaping the future. With thousands of new jobs emerging across the Commonwealth in the next decade, there’s never been a better time for young people to explore a career in modern manufacturing.

Please join us in recognizing and supporting manufacturers and workers across Pennsylvania.
