In the near future, I will be introducing legislation to change the local share grant approval process in Washington County.
 
Under my legislation, the local share revenue currently used for these grants would be distributed to the Commonwealth Financing Authority to be used exclusively for grant projects in Washington County. 
Current law regarding the disbursement of local share from casino gaming varies from host county to host county. In Washington County, a portion of the local share is required to be awarded as grants through DCED for public interest projects in the county.
