Midwives provide compassionate and competent care to thousands of women and infants every year – from prenatal check-ups to the delivery room and beyond, nurse-midwives offer safe, quality medical care. I believe these highly trained maternal health care professionals can serve patients even more fully with small tweaks to state laws to allow them to perform additional duties.

In the near future, I plan to introduce a package of legislation to allow nurse-midwives to make referrals for physical therapy and to sign fetal death certificates.
I ask that you join me in co-sponsoring this package of legislation that will expand and improve maternal health care by empowering Pennsylvania’s nurse-midwives in providing comprehensive care.
