In the near future, I will be introducing legislation designating a bridge in Irvona Borough, Clearfield County, as the WWII Veteran Pvt. Wilbur Russell Rea Memorial Bridge.

Wilbur Russell Rea was born in Irvona on May 1, 1924. He was the son of Herbert Bloom Rea and Mary Elizabeth Bone Rea. He graduated from Coalport Irvona High School and enjoyed working on cars and farm equipment as pastimes. Pvt. Rea entered the service under the United States Army’s 96th Division, Company B, 381st Infantry. Pvt. Rea made the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of freedom, when he was killed in action in Okinawa, Japan on April 16th, 1945.

I hope you will consider sponsoring this legislation and join me in honoring the service and sacrifice of WWII Veteran Pvt. Wilbur Russell Rea.
