As we all know, Pennsylvania is a large and diverse state with different financial needs regarding local economic development and essential services to residents. I believe the current system for collecting state income, property, sales, and corporate taxes does not do enough to provide financial stability at the local level. We need a different approach to address the constant funding disparities in our communities and help residents see the direct impacts of their hard-earned tax dollars.

I am working to create legislation that would establish indexed categories of counties for state tax collection and funding. Each of the three economic categories of the Commonwealth would keep its share of all collected taxes to fund its schools, medical facilities and services, law enforcement, parks and recreational areas, transportation infrastructures including roads and bridges, and other essential line-items that are currently appropriated through the state budget.

Please join me in supporting this solution to create a fairer collection and distribution system to prevent additional financial burdens at the local level and help us to better serve our constituents.
