Pennsylvania ranks 49th in the nation over the last decade for growth in solar, wind and geothermal energy generation. As a historic leader in energy production, our state has a clear opportunity to reclaim its status by transitioning to a clean energy future.

Solar and wind energy are the fastest growing sources of energy in our nation and are now the cheapest ways to produce power. Moreover, jobs in renewable energy throughout Pennsylvania grew 1.5 times faster than the state’s overall economy in recent years, with continued growth expected. To highlight the importance of renewable energy and the fact that solar and wind power are no longer “alternative energy” sources but rather an obvious, common-sense choice for clean, renewable energy, we plan to introduce a resolution designating September 21, 2025, as “Sun Day” in Pennsylvania. By embracing renewable energy and raising awareness of its benefits, we can improve the health of Pennsylvania’s communities, secure a more stable energy future, and strengthen our state and local economies.

We ask that you join us in co-sponsoring this resolution and help demonstrate our commitment to a cleaner, healthier, and more prosperous energy future.
