Please consider joining me in cosponsoring legislation that will provide Career and Technical Education Schools with the ability to operate independently from their sending schools. This bill aims to strengthen CTE programs by giving them autonomy needed to better serve students, industry partners, and local economies.

Pennsylvania boasts over 80 Career and Technical Education Centers that provide state-approved programs to thousands of students. These centers offer rigorous academic and technical training, preparing students for high-priority occupations across various industries.

Our great Commonwealth has long been a strong proponent of local control in education to ensure that decisions affecting students are made by those closest to the community. This legislation will promote that principle by allowing CTE schools to operate independently, making them more responsive to the swiftly changing dynamics of today’s job market.

I encourage you to join me in supporting this vital initiative to strengthen our state’s workforce development and provide students with educational opportunities.
