In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution calling on the establishment of a Special Senate Committee to investigate the April 13, 2025, attack at the Governor's residence.

First and foremost, I was relieved that the Governor and his family were not harmed in the attack.  And while I am pleased that the State Police had a third party – albeit the former State Commissioner – investigate the break in, the report has not been shared with the General Assembly, even in a limited fashion.  As evidenced most recently in the attacks in Minnesota, the security of our elected officials is paramount.  It is equally important that the legislative branch understand that these costs and security needs for the protection of the Governor’s residence and other Commonwealth assets.

As such, I am calling for the Special Committee to investigate all matters concerning the attack at the Governor's residence, including the report of the former State Commissioner, and any upgrades and expenditures relating to upgrades to security at the Governor's mansion.

Please join me in cosponsoring this important measure.
