The recent change in the federal administration of the United States and the appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services has given momentum to a reexamination of the foods and chemicals we put in our body.

With concerns around the safety of mRNA vaccines in humans, including the potential to cause dangerous conditions such as myocarditis and pericarditis, I will soon be introducing legislation to ban the use of mRNA vaccines in domestic animals in Pennsylvania to ensure the safety of our food supply.

As recently as June 2025, the United States Food and Drug Administration has updated requirements for mRNA COVID-19 vaccines intended for humans to include warnings about the risks of myocarditis and pericarditis post-vaccination, including information from a study that examined the potential for long-term injuries resulting from myocarditis.

While there are no mRNA vaccines currently approved for use in domestic animals, there are some in the testing phase of development. We cannot afford to repeat the same mistakes that were made with the rollout and requirements of COVID-19 vaccines in humans.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation.
