This bill amends the Wage Payment and Collection Law of Pennsylvania by introducing new definitions related to construction contracts and services. It defines terms such as "Construction contract," "Construction services," "General contractor," and "Subcontractor," clarifying the roles and responsibilities of parties involved in construction work. These definitions aim to provide a clearer understanding of the legal framework governing wage payments and labor services in the construction industry.

Additionally, the bill establishes specific liability provisions for general contractors regarding violations of the act committed by subcontractors. It states that general contractors are jointly and severally liable for such violations, regardless of their direct contractual relationship with the subcontractor. Furthermore, it outlines the indemnification responsibilities of subcontractors towards general contractors for any wages, damages, or attorney fees incurred due to the subcontractor's violations, with certain exceptions. The provisions of this act will apply to construction contracts entered into on or after its effective date, which is set to be 60 days after enactment.
