Public works employees work day in and day out to maintain our communities and keep the residents of our state safe. These hard-working individuals are often the first on the scene when an emergency happens and perform critical tasks, such as clearing debris after a natural disaster. In addition, they regularly ensure the functionality of infrastructure like water, sewer, and transportation systems.

Public works employees deserve our utmost respect and appreciation for all they do to serve our state. That is why I am introducing a resolution to recognize the week of May 18 through May 24, 2025, as “Public Works Week” in Pennsylvania. This recognition will help educate Pennsylvania residents on how they rely on public works employees in their everyday lives and show individuals across the state that serving as a public works employee is an honorable and important career.

We in the state legislature owe a debt of gratitude to our public works employees for the vital services they provide to our state. Please show your support for these brave individuals by co-sponsoring this important resolution.
